Only 5 Songs ?!!!
Solved! Go to Solution.
Spotify wants all the music in the world available for streaming.
When an album is removed from the library, it's always a decision of the label, or of the right owners or of the artist. Sometimes, It could be also a licensing problem.
In the case of The Magnetic Fields 50 song memoir, as the album has not been totally removed but just replaced by a shorter version, we can imagine a label decision.
Something to keep in mind is that Spotify never takes the decision to remove an album.
The best way to know exactly what happened, is to try to contact the label.
Thanks for your understanding 🙂
Yea how come we can't get all the 50 songs?

The 50 songs album has been replaced, for now, by a selection of 16 songs. We can expect, later, a deluxe version with more songs.
I hope this selection wiil be a good way for waiting the full listening. 🙂
Thanks for the reply. In this case however, the album in question is a 50 song memoir (clue is in the title) of Stephen Merritt's life, with each song corresponding to a year, so publishing a selection of 16 songs is a bit like publishing only 16 chapters of a 50 chapter autobiography....
I guess I will have to pay the 30 quid to buy it, which is a little frustrating as that's what I pay Spotify for.....
