My Question or Issue

Starting yesterday, 10/4/24, “New Releases For You” (NRFY) has not appeared on my Home Screen in-app as it usually does, and the full list that you can find by checking through Search > Discover has the NRFY title but no content within it. I have had a “New Release” appear on my Home Screen for an artist I listen to that would normally then show up within the NRFY cultivated list.. but still nothing is there. Release Radar playlist functions as normal, but of course it does not include all music that is displayed for NRFY. Any help? I’ve already made sure my app is updated. I’ve included an image of the “empty” NRFY section from the Discover screen.

Thanks for your help

Hey there @houstonz,

Thanks for posting this thread in the Community and we appreciate you sending over the screenshot!

Would you mind letting us know if you're able to see the section when you log in to your account on another device?

When it comes to the phone, it's worth logging out > back in twice in a row in order to resync the account and Spotify.

We'll be on the lookout 🙂

Hi Ivelina,

First, I tried logging out and in on the iOS app twice as suggested but nothing changed.

Then I logged in to the web player via Firefox web browser on a PC. Nothing for NRFY appeared on the All nor Music homepages. Checking the Discover page, there was not a line for New Releases For You at all, unlike my iOS screenshot where there was a title but no content listed. I even tried logging out and in on the web player a couple times then checking on there + iOS app with nothing changed.

Thanks for the detailed reply @houstonz!

Just to confirm, could you share the exact version of Spotify you're running on your iPhone? It's also worth performing a clean reinstall of the app, if you haven't already - this will rule out any potential issues with corrupted cache.

Something else that's worth trying is logging in to your account on another mobile device (your Duo partner's, for example). Could you also ask them to check if the issue persists on their end? This will help us determine whether this is account-related.

Let us know how it goes. Cheers 🤞

Originally Spotify version 8.9.78.544, deleted and reinstalled the app, and it is now 8.9.80.539

It may be worth noting that I updated to 8.9.78.544 from a recent version when I first encountered this issue, hoping the update would help.

I checked my partner’s iPhone 13 and they are having the same issue while logged into their own account.

Appreciate the cooperation @houstonz!

So we can look further into this, could you even send us the iOS version of your partner's iPhone, as well as the exact Spotify version they're using?

Hope to hear from you soon 🙂

Sorry for the delay.

She has the latest Spotify update as well, 8.9.80.539, but she is still using iOS 17.6.1 at the moment. Double checking, I am currently on iOS 18.0.1, which has me wondering due to the release of iOS 18.0.1 on 10/3/24 if that is somehow affecting our account in some unusual way. Or if it’s the fact she is still using a slightly older iOS.

NRFY section is working as normal this Friday with new releases populating. Thinking about it, last week was one of the first times I’ve ever pre-saved an album. Not sure if that could’ve played into the bug I experienced that somehow affected multiple users on the Duo account across iOS and PC?

Hey @houstonz,

Thanks for your reply.

We're happy to hear that everything is back to normal. We can't say what was the root cause of the issue but seeing that it was affecting both accounts in the Premium Duo plan it was most probably a temporary hiccup in the backend.

In any case, keep an eye on the section for the next few weeks and let us know if you see any other irregularities.

Take care,
