Recently played artists isn't updating correctly

iPhone 14Pro, Macbook Air M1 2020

My recently played artists section for some reason seems to update very sporadically. For example, sometimes I will listen to 3 full songs by an artists and they won't show up as recently played. Then I'll listen to 10 seconds of a song and that artist will show up. I have tried closing & reopening the app & it doesn't help. I also wonder if we could get an option to see recently played artists just for ourselves even if we don't share it publicly...is this already a thing?

Yes, you can see the recently played artists on the home interface of your Spotify app. By clicking on the gear icon, you can select the privacy option and then "private session / recently played / artists played recently." Check the option you want, and you're all set!
