Release Radar - only 30 tracks max

Hi,
I used to have between 100-200 tracks every friday on release radar, this week I only got 30.

It seems it's the 'default' number when you don't follow lots of artists (which is not my case, I follow almost 2000 artists)

How can I get back to getting all the new releases ?

No it's been more than 30 songs for a few years now. And my Release Radar on desktop is currently sitting at close to 200 songs, while the Release Radar on the phone app has exactly 30 songs.

In saying that, the close to 200 songs on desktop still appear in the preview on the app - they're just not in the actual playlist itself.

I'm following more than 1500 artists and used to get around 8 hours of music in Release Radar weekly. Now it shrinked to just around 2 hours.

Edit: the web player shows 1h 45m, but it actually plays more songs than are displayed. Here, take a look: it plays a song that's not even there among those 30 songs! Moreover, it happens to be by the artist whose artwork is the playlist icon.

Then I log out and go back to the playlist page, and it's suddenly 8h 30m! And that song is the first in the playlist. But the majority of the songs are hidden when I'm logged in or am using the app, for some reason. I don't know what you're cooking there, Spotify, but this isn't improving user experience at all.

I am experiencing the same issue! I use to get 10 to 12 hours a each week or about 200 songs, and now for the last 2 weeks, only about 90 mins worth. It refreshes daily but only a few new songs, I'm following over 1500 artists too so I know I should be getting minimum of 8 hours at least.

Incorrect. I have saved every one of my Release Radar playlists back through June 2022. They are all in fact 200+. However, this goes well past that month and year. It's been at least 6 years since I've been using this playlist religiously, week after week. Someone is lying or doesn't have a clue what they're talking about. This is not an acceptable answer for any of us complaining here. Please look into this further.

What kind of answer is this, Joan? Straight up telling customers are incorrect about basic services that have been in place of years. The very definition of gaslighting.
Even if Release Radar is "supposed " to have 30 songs, what benefit does this add to users ability to keep track of new content of artists every week? Is there an intended way Spotify wants us to stay updated on new releases? I'm open to hearing the alternatives, because I thought Release Radar was the way we were supposed to keep track. And it was, for years up until these last few months.

If this your answer, I really doubt that you ever used spotify 🤔
Since I first signed up to spotify 7 years ago, the “ release radar “ playlist always had more than 30 tracks. Moreover, the playlist on the web player still shows more than 30 tracks so, should we ditch the app & use the web player instead & if this the case, I will go to the app store & give it a bad rating because this isn’t what the service I’m paying for. 😡

I've used the release radar religiously for years now. And one of, if not the main point of use is to check out the release radar each week. I've been used to it being capped at 200 songs, and I get through those songs every week - and spread the songs into playlists. 

And now it's suddenly reduced to a mere 30 songs. I followed several thousand artists, 30 songs simply doesn't cut it. Not by a long shot.

Please bring back the 200 song cap, or better yet - leave it uncapped.

I don't know when they added this option to browse the Release Radar like TikTok, but maybe that's the reason. It would be a pain to browse through 200 songs like that.

On that note, however, it would be nice to be able to listen to a shorter version version of the Release Radar in the background without having to actually swipe the tracks up.

I came here for the same reason. I noticed this a couple of weeks ago as well. I like to let my release radar play while I'm at work, so the 12 hour playlist never felt too long for me. I hope Spotify brings back the longer r r  or gives the option to have the full playlist or the condensed one for those who prefer it shorter.

This has been happening for me for a couple of weeks. The web player still does 200 songs though.

That is not true Joan. For years my Release Radar had 200 new songs each Friday. Now on the mobile app it is greatly reduced but on the web player it still does the 200 songs.

My Question or Issue

Here are two screenshots taken now. One from the app and the other from the web version. The account is the same.

The web version has 126 tracks, the app has 30. The tracks are played, but not displayed in the playlist.

Using release radar every week to see all of the new releases from artists i follow is literally the main use case for me and i might cancel my account if they limit the playlist to 30 tracks; i am so unhappy with this change

So as of today the Release Radar on the web player has also been capped to 30 tracks. They closed that workaround real quick which means they are serious about screwing their customers, not to mention the artists who relies on this service to reach their fans with new releases. Why is Spotify feeding us outright lies about this? What is the motive behind this change? Do I need to take my business elsewhere after 14 years on this platform? Hurry up and act quickly Spotify, my patience is wearing thinner by the minute!

Surprisingly, when I opened the web version a few hours later, it also showed 30 tracks.

I've canceled my Spotify membership after 6 years because the release radar is no longer working properly. The first thing I do on Fridays is take a look at the release radar. Pure joy. There was nothing better than having the new songs from your favorite bands automatically in a playlist - with a few new recommendations. The rest of the time I only listen to music on Tidal because of the better quality. Spotify, it's a shame that our journey is over now. Simply pretending that the release radar has always worked like it does now is a lie. But if that's what you want, then here's my cancellation.

Having the exact same issue with mine and I’m SAD about it. A live rep a spoke to said, “We’re always testing possible improvements, so you or someone else may see something new or get a limited feature temporarily on the app.” 

They told me the best thing I could do is speak up about it here. Anybody hear anything else on this?

This is extremely disheartening. Really hope they listen to the feedback and revert back to what we’ve all known and loved for years.
