Selected tracks are correct, but playing from another album

Selected tracks are correct, but playing from another album

Hello. I realized that, whenever an artist has one same song listed on two or more albums, all said albums will switch, once in a while, as the source for said song, as, today it will play from "Album 1", and then tomorrow it will play from "Album 2" and so on.
"Why is that relevant?"
Because not all albums have the same audio quality. Sometimes I get stuck to a low-quality version of a certain song because of this.
I'd like to know why this happens and if theres any way I can keep a certain track to a certain album.

Hey @zMuHuang,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

This is very odd indeed and we'd like to gather as many details as possible. We'd like to know if it's always behaved like that or if this behavior started after a specific event/update.

On another note, would you mind letting us know the exact make/model and OS of your affected device along with the Spotify version you have running?

Lastly, can you send us a video recording of what you are seeing on your side? You can attach it in your next reply in mp4 format, or you can also upload it to YouTube or Google drive and make it public, so we can visualize it.

Keep us in the loop!

Hello, AlejaR, thank you for your reply!

To be completely honest, I got no idea if this is a recent issue, or for how long this have been happening. It is random, tho, as in, when I wrote and sent this ticket, it was happening, and, in this very moment, it is not, lol. But I'll  explain this issue in details, based on what I experienced.

So, there's this "HYDE" artist, who has this "FAITH" album released. Sometimes I feel like playing the eight track "PERFECT MOMENT", and it goes all well. Sometimes I feel like playing the first track, tho, which is "JESUS CHRIST", and, instead of playing from the "FAITH" album, it will play from the "HYDE" album, which is a compilation of some of his songs: image_2022-11-12_174336941.png

"HYDE" album:

Same would happen if I were to play the second track from the FAITH album, which is "COUNTDOWN", and it would play from his "COUNTDOWN" EP release instead:

Since the song is the same, it shouldn't be of any problem, but thing is, his "HYDE" compilation clearly was released in a lower quality than his "FAITH" album (shame on him lol) , so sometimes I get stuck with this lower quality version. Playing from random playlists, or directly from the album as we see in both pictures above, it happens the same.

I can't send a video because its not happening right now, but I'll try and record it when I get this issue again.

I'm on Desktop, Windows 10. Spotify for Windows
1.1.97.962.g24733a46

I don't know if it happens on mobile too.

Thanks again for your attention!
