My Question or Issue
There is this annoying issue with Spotify that when you play a folder and a song appears multiple times within the folder, it appears as a duplicate in the song queue. This wouldn't be too big of an issue itself, but they literally appear side by side every time which can tend to be very annoying having to skip the second version of the song every time. As if that wasn't bad enough, if you try to remove one of the two instances of the song, both of the songs get removed from the queue.
I have a folder which has all of my Daily Mixes and I would like to play them on shuffle without having to worry about skipping each duplicate song since removing the duplicates isn't really an option.
Hi there @RXCH,
Thanks for reaching out. Could you please provide us the following:
With this information, we’d be happy to investigate.
Keep us posted.
Hey there @RXCH,
Thanks for sending us this info.
Could you let us know if the same happens while connected to a different internet connection?
On another note, could you ask a friend or a relative to log in to their account on one of your affected devices to check if they can replicate this behavior with their account?
Lastly, sending us the exact make/model, operating system and Spotify version of your affected devices would come in handy.
We'll be on the lookout.
Yes, it happens while connected to another internet connection and others are having the same issues. Windows 10 Home 64-bit and Chrome web player.
Hey @RXCH,
Thanks for the cooperation so far!
Can you let us know if the duplicates are already there when you open the folder or do they appear when you add or delete a song?
I see you also mentioned your iPhone in your original post so it'd be great if you can send us the Spotify version it's running as well.
Looking forward to your reply.

My Question or Issue
I had a playlist (liked songs) playing for a while. at some point I added another song to the queue. a few minutes later I noticed that there are 11 instances of the same song in my queue.
I don't know if adding the song has something to do with the bug, just trying to help to reproduce.
the song was in the original playlist, and appeared in the order it should have (shuffle was turned off). When the queue reached the song, it played, then played one of the duplicates, and then played the next song after the remaining 9. There are still 10 copies of the song in the queue.
The playlist interacts as if they don't exist, and if I click on one of then (say the third) then the third song after the duplicate songs will play. Next and previous buttons function normally.
I've attached a screenshot and a video showing the problem.
Restarting the client solved the issue and the duplicate songs disappeared from the queue. The song only appears once in the Recently Played tab.
