Skipping silence?

Skipping silence?

There's a song I really love and have been looping, that unfortunately has a few minutes of silence between the end of the audio, versus the actual end of the Spotify track itself.

This may sound convoluted, but I was wondering: if I hit skip while it's looped, and it restarts the song from the beginning, does this count as a legitimate loop? Does it count on my Spotify Wrapped at the end of the year as having listened to it X amount of times? Or does the platform simply think I hate the song even though I'm just trying to not listen to 3 minutes of silence?

Worst case scenario, I can always upload the song as a Local File, but I would really like my Wrapped to be accurate.

Hopefully this is the right place for this kind of question. Thanks anyway!

Hey @yaxgirlxsierra,

Welcome to the Spotify Community!

Don't worry: as mentioned in this article, playing a song for 30 seconds or more will count as a stream and the data will be reflected in your Wrapped!

As for the long silence, here's an idea about being able to set custom start and end times for songs, which you may find interesting, so feel free to check it out and show your support.

Cheers 🙂
