My Question or Issue
What happened to the bell icon for new releases? I love keeping up with new releases from artists that I listen to, and now the bell icon is gone after a recent update and I don’t know how to find new releases from the artists that I follow.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Hey @derekf88 thanks for the screenshot. You can try clicking the profile picture icon on the top left near the ALL filter. That should open the new side panel with an option to open What's New section.
Keep us posted.

My Question or Issue
The guide to accessing listening history on Android is out of date, as the latest version (8.8.62.491) no longer has the "Recently played" button
https://support.spotify.com/us/article/listening-history/
The whole app has had a very clunky unfriendly content-overloaded interface overhaul - please bring Recently played and the previous app layout back
Thanks a lot it helped!
@derekf88 Glad that it worked for you!
Hello,
It didn't help at first, I needed to uninstall Spotify to make it work.
I don't know what the issue was, but I don't have it anymore.

My Question or Issue
This morning I seem to have lost the "recently played" from the top right of the home page, along with whatever else was there.
New update today took away Bell icon, Recently played and Settings.
wth as the listened track says!
You are litarally making app unusable. Before it was complained that the Bell icon is phone only and are you serious than when Bell arrived to Computer, you are taking it away from a Phone. What a joke, seriously.
Not to mention after 10 rows is now Tiktok view until the end.
I don't know, but after my Premium months ends I will consider other options.
If you have nothing else to do than making app worse, just do nothing.

My Question or Issue
Recently played icon is not on the home screen when using spotify app
Why did you move settings cog away from home page where it was easiest to access? What were you thinking? "I know what'll really annoy people!".....
Following a recent UI update on both iOS and Android, I noticed a big change to the homepage – the removal of the "What's New?" and "Recent Releases" buttons from the top right corner. This change left me feeling quite disappointed because I relied on these features daily, and their absence has made it challenging for me to navigate the app effectively.
This modification appears to be in line with Spotify's effort to streamline the homepage and give it a more minimalist design, driven in part by the introduction of the autoplay 'TikTok-like' feature. I believe that simplicity might not be a necessary priority for a music player platform like Spotify. The "What's New?" and "Recent Releases" pages are highly functional and practical for me and I think it blended with Spotify's other features and functionalities quite well.
I would really like these buttons back, as it a lot easier to navigate to these pages.
Hi there @JoeMG!
Both features are still available in the app, they've just been relocated. You can access them by clicking on your profile icon in the top left corner of the Home page:
Hope this clears things up. Cheers!
Please add the bell icon back
The bell is the one thing you want to tap when you open Spotify… User Testing guys, come on?!

My Question or Issue
Hey, since about three weeks now, I no longer see my settings, notifications or search history. I checked in with other threads and supposedly the issue is fixed but that is just not the case for me and some of my friends. Without these three buttons Spotify is essentially unusable and it would be great if we could get them back asap 🙂
Thanks in advance
I have restarted my android phone, uninstalled and then reinstalled spotify several times and I still dont have access to settings. any suggestions?
I have also tapped on my profile pic to no avail. Help, please.
For me the news bell only disappeared recently, and I'm hating this. The new episode playlist is two clicks away and order changing. The news bell was the better feature!
Hey @HerbKCCarson,
Welcome to the Community and thank you for joining the conversation.
In recent updates, the settings icon was included in the upper-left panel of your screen. By clicking the profile picture icon on the top left near the 'ALL' filter should open the new side panel with multiple options including Settings and privacy.
We understand you’ve already tried some troubleshooting steps including reinstalling, but to be sure that we're on the same page - did you use the steps for a clean reinstall mentioned in this article?
If the issue persists, could you include in your next response the make, model, OS version and Spotify version of your device, along with a short video where we can take a better look? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to watch it).
We'll be on the lookout.
Hey folks,
Thanks for all your replies.
Currently, you can find the What's New, Listening history and Settings and privacy icons in the upper-left panel of your screen:
To find them, you just need to click your profile picture icon on the top left:
You can find your Music and Podcast & Shows feeds at your Home screen:
If you're having difficulties finding these options, please let us know.
Feel free to share with us here, constructively, your feedback and comments in the matter. Your feedback is very important to us, because it helps us make future decisions. We know you want to make the best out of your listening experience.

My Question or Issue
I just got a new homepage redesign and it functionally removes some critical features. I attached an image of what I mean. Before I saw a list of ~8 recently played podcasts, their progress, and if there's updates to those podcasts I haven't listened to yet. That's all gone and it's 10x more difficult:
Recent episodes, gone: I can't see podcast episodes I'm partway done with, only the entire podcast as a whole (100s of episodes to scroll through to find the one I'm listening to). I now need to go into my listening history, scroll past all the songs I've listened to, so I can find my recent episodes.
Episode progress, gone: I can't see the progress I've made into my podcast episodes. Am I meant to check each individual podcast to remember if I have partway-listened to episodes?
Podcast updates, gone: Without those blue dots, I don't know when my podcasts have new episodes. I need to check each podcast individually. My "what's new" tab isn't showing them for some reason? Even if they did, 4 layers deep (homepage->side menu->standard what's new page->filter podcasts) rather than before.
I hope this is a bug or test and can be resolved soon, thank you.
