Spotify not working that well for blind user!

Spotify not working that well for blind user!

Hello,

Your service is not working that well for me, why not?

I am a blind user of your service, and I'm using it for a music class. I am also using a screen reader called Job Access with Speech (JAWS) as well as a Windows Vista PC. When I take tests through my course, there can be songs on the exams which play through your service. However, whe, I try playing these, pressing the UTM source whatever it is, I get nothing. I don't think it's the screen access technology because I've had it turned off once when testing and tried the songs listed to no avale. However, I can listen to songs from both the application and the course book itself, so I don't know what's going on. Please advise, and thank you,

Ashleigh Piccinino

Hello:

Currently Spotify does not support screen readers for the Spotify desktop app currently. Spotify does support the VoiceOver for iOS though.

Also there is this beta app running that can be used with the Spotify desktop app if you have a Premium account currently. URL below to the beta app.

Thank you for this information. I guess I'll just use youtube whenever these questions come up. However, if I were to later obtain a free Spotify account with a Windows 10 desktop computer, and use a JAWS script called Spotify Blind, do you think it'd work better? If you don't know, Spotify Blind is a special script which makes it easier for blind/visually impaired persons to use. It gives you basic hotkeys to find playlists, insert them, and so on. I don't think it'd help with my issue though, come to think of it. It just makes it easier to get around. Remember that the desktop app isn't giving me any problems; it's the web version and my specific course. I'll contact them next.

Thank you,
