Stop merging ideas with years-old or already marked threads

Stop merging ideas with years-old or already marked threads

Recently complained about the podcast experience, which has become worse (at least for me) over the last few months. I posted an idea tha was merged with a thread from 2018 that had already been marked "Not Right Now", but my complaint is about recent issues. I was also told that this idea was "Live", but since it's marked "Not Right Now" without an update since 2023 (aside from comments), I'm not sure how it counts.

While I understand this organizationally, merging threads like this just buries the topic and makes it harder to suggest things or provide actual feedback. At the very least, there needs to be an option to unmerge.

Hey there @lionmaki

Thanks for getting in touch about this here in the Community. We moved your post from the Ideas board to the relevant Help board, where it fits better.

We understand where you're coming from and we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback with us.

We merge ideas in order to have all the feedback about a specific topic in one place. This way, we can have a better understanding how popular an idea is. You can add your vote by clicking on the Thumbs up icon on the main idea to support it. The higher the number of votes an idea gets, the more likely it is for it to be implemented. Also, you can read more about how the feedback reaches Spotify here.

Regarding the idea's status, "Not right now" means the idea is currently live, but there's no immediate plans to implement it. However, if anything changes, we'll let everyone know by updating its status.

Hope this clears things up. If you need a hand with anything else, the Community is here for you.

It does just bury things. There are so many commonsense, simple changes to make but if Spotify has decided it doesn't want to do something, it does not care to be contradicted.
