Strange section in main feed

My Question or Issue

Hi,

My main feed has received a new rather strange section, titled in Turkish despite of using Spotify in English and consists of some suggestions and genres, artists which i have never listened to,neither i feel like i am ever going to be interested in anytime soon.

Two matter:

The section title is in Turkish while others in English, it catches my attention while i am seeking other entries in main feed.

And the playlists suggested under that section is not my within my interest whatsoever, i have never listened to one of those,neither anything from those genres.

I think it is something done by Spotify Turkey so please allow users to remove it, or notify them to not push it by force. The content is not related to my taste, and the section appears above than the sections i am interested in.

Unfortunately, you can't remove this section from your home screen, but you can open a new idea here in the Community starting here.

I just want to make sure these two matters;
Isn't this a bug if a non-english language exists in Spotify, in one of the section in my main feed despite of setting language as English?
Isn't this a bug if suggested playlists, genres or artists are the ones which i have never listened ever for once?

Spotify is always looking forward to improving the way how its users discover new content, so it's normal you see something you usually don't listen to. Contents on our home screen besides suggestions based on our taste, it's normal Spotify recommends different contents like podcasts, artists, or playlists. Everything is based on what we like and what we listen to.

About the non-English section, it's not a bug. Not everything is based on the language set on your app or browser settings, thus, it's normal you see something in your local language.

First of all thanks for being informative.
But not another thing in my main feed is in my local language. Even a specific section belonging to a local genre is directly translated as is.

Only that section is in Turkish, it first abrupts my focus while i am searching for somethig to play and it doesn't integrate to the UI.
I became aware of that section as my foreigner friends had asked me what that section was for then after an update it appeared on mine too.

It shouldn't be too hard to accept that probably Spotify Turkey is not quite paying attention to this. I don't even mind if Spotify sticks a new kind of section to my main feed as long as it suits to the language i have set. I hope someone from dev reads this out and brings a resolution.

And no, none of the artists or songs or genres in that section really relates to something i listen to. I don't mind when spotify suggests me new playlists, artists or songs as long as it fits to my taste. If algorithm find anything relating from those songs to my taste then it should be revised.

It doesn't, really, that section appeared out of nowhere after an update and i highly suspect it originates from the local office of Spotify. It neither fits to the language set, or to my taste.

Unfortunately my problem is not solved and i don't want this section to be marked solved.The section still appears, the playlists and description of the playlist remains in local language. The local office of spotify is taking no actions despite of my attempts to reach them.

In case the country in the account is Turkey, that would explain why you get such recommendations.

We understand that some users would also prefer not seeing such recommendations. Currently there is no option to customize the home screen and such indicators as the country are being used.

You can check this idea and add your +Vote to it in order to support it. It's about an option to customize your home screen. You can also Subscribe to the thread so you stay up-to-date with any relevant news about this.

I just want this to be heard:

Spotify office in Turkey misuses this section and promotes some lowly listened people in the playlist covers, moreover doesn't even provide a translation to the UI so that non-turkish people can read it.
