Super Basic question from a nube

Super Basic question from a nube

Does adding a song to my playlist also add the song to my library? Thanks for not hating on a nube 🙂

Hi there!

Absolutely no hate for you, everyone's got to start out somewhere. Don't worry, no question is a bad question here. The answer to your question is that adding a song to a playlist does put it into your Spotify Library, through the "Playlists" tab. However, it's not saved to your library as an individual song unless you click the three grey dots to the right of the song and then click the topmost item, "Save" with a little plus sign to the left of it. Welcome to the community, and hope this helps you!

No, make sure to hit the little plus sign next to the song title. It'll turn in into a check mark when it's in the library. This means, that songs you put in a playlist, unless "checked" are not necessarily in your library.

Hope that helped 🙂 welcome!

im new too and i don't see any plus signs next to my music anywhehre on my laptop or phone. i do see the three dots, though so thanks for the help its starting to make sense to me nwo.

When the song is playing it'll appear with the album art in the bottom left corned, next to the name it should have the little plus sign. Also, when you are looking at the song, you should see the + to add songs:

As you can see, the song rockstar is added, while the song Gucci Gang is not.

When you are looking at the song just in a list, you're right, you can also use the three dots. Just click those three dots and click "add to library"
