My Question or Issue

Please help my children like listening to sleep music at night, lately they've been waking up in the middle of the night scared, because crime podcasts keep being played after the sleep music goes off. I have nothing in my cue. I have never listened to crime or murder podcasts, I don't know how i can get it to stop, it's super frustrating!! I have gone to my recommended podcasts and said not interested in all the crime podcasts it's keeps recommending. My daughter is now terrified of being kidnapped, she is 8 and afraid to leave the house, instead I now have to sit with them until they fall asleep and make sure I turn Spotify off! I have turned the explicit filter off and it still plays!

Hey @Ash102,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community.

The recommended content could be based on different factors including what other users are listening to, what is popular in your region, top rated shows, among others. To avoid this content being played during the nighttime for your children, we'd recommend creating a playlist with the episodes or shows you want them to listen to in order to avoid those recommendations. You can also download the podcasts and turn the Offline mode ON to prevent additional suggestions.

As another option, you can play music with the Autoplay feature turned off (instead of podcasts) to avoid any recommendations added to your playback. There's plenty of playlists created by Spotify or other users with white noise, cricket noise, sea sounds and more that you can use during the nighttime. You can also create your own playlist and leave it on repeat. Make sure to activate the Private session or exclude the playlist from your Taste profile to prevent this music from affecting your recommendations, wrapped, etc.

Hope this helps. If anything else comes up, the Community will be here for you.
