Why is Spotify Unwilling to Allow Exclusion Tagging?

Why is Spotify Unwilling to Allow Exclusion Tagging?

For the past Five years, I have been asking for One thing from Spotify, and one thing Only.
I want to be able to exclude genre tags from ever showing up.

There are genres I have no interest in, will not have interest in, and Do Not Want to receive recommendations for.

And yet, even after 500 people have publicly agreed with me, On this platform! Where less than 1% of the users have ever been to! Still, this is ignored.
I have spent longer asking for this feature than I spent active duty in the United States Military.
I do not want music my abusers listened to, to ever show up in my Spotify.
And yet, because it makes Spotify money, I still have to deal with this**bleep**, every **bleep**ing day when I open the app.
What's the **bleep**ing point of being premium if I'm unable to curate my experience?

Hi there @YakofallTrades,

Thank you for your post and feedback here in the Community.

There's this idea - [All Platforms] Customize Start Screen. You can leave a +VOTE and Subscribe to the thread for any updates.

We're always testing things by adding or removing features to make Spotify better overall and we’re constantly aiming to improve our features. We’re sorry that this means you’re not able to use Spotify like you wish to do at the moment.

You can read more about how your feedback reaches Spotify here.

Once again - thanks for the feedback, we appreciate it. Let us know if we can help you with anything else.

Take care!
