Why must I be online for offline mode?

Why must I be online for offline mode?

I travel between Washington, Oregon, Hawaii and Alaska for work. And I have noticed these last few weeks, perhaps the most recent update on the app. That I cannot access my downloaded music unless I am online like once a day or something.

I had my playlist access in Hawaii, but as soon as I turned it to offline before I boarded the plane, every single one of my playlists are no longer accessible unless I go back online and click on all 25 playlists so they can load online first then I can go offline for 24 hours ish before my playlists are locked again.

This is driving me out the wall, I have been a premium member for 13-14 years now. And honestly when my music is taken from me, that is the fastest way to **bleep** me off.

And this post was removed by reddit mods with no notification.

This is genuinely disgusting.

I'm having the same issue.

Found it while on a multi day hike without any coverage.

Very annoying....

Hello @ENMCKIE and @coloredemotions,

Thanks for posting this thread!

With Offline mode, usually you'd need to go online at least once every 30 days to keep your downloads, so what you're experiencing is odd.

If you've not tried this already, could you give the Spotify app a clean reinstall with these steps as it often helps resolve different performance issues? It contains the steps to also clear the cache which can be corrupted.

Keep in mind that you'd need to redownload your content afterwards and we understand this could be annoying, but a clean reinstall could resolve the online prompt.

Keep us posted.
