Year in Music

Year in Music

Dear Spotify,

I just want to make a post saying I'm personally not happy with the email Spotify sent out to people. Everything is wrong about it. Starting with the fact that some people who wanted this information didn't know they needed to have email notifications turned on. Next, lets talk about how you downgraded from the previous two years! The last two years you guys have had amazing, informative and interesting WEBPAGES devoted to provided very specific and personal information for all your users. How are you going to go from doing that, to sending out an email that has a small fraction of the stats that people want to see. I saw last.fm's "year in music" page and it's everything your email isn't. It's interesting, dynamic and sharable. The shareable aspect should be especially important to you considering you should want to be bringing in your customer's social network. If you want your PAYING customers to continue to be devoted to your service, you need to be pulling out all the stops. Especially when the music streaming industry has increasingly more competition vying for your customers money. If there's anything you can do to get an actual Spotify year in music webpage out for 2016, that would be amazing. Even if you have to put it out during Jan 2017, I still wouldn't care. OR something else you could do that would be cool would be to make each person's information available to them year round! I would love to be able to check up on that information at any point during the year.  Anyways, that's pretty much everything that is coming to mind right now, but I hope you guys will take this feedback into account. Also I'm looking for a summer internship so if you need a creative mind that would've said no to this idea, hit me up! 😉

Your customer,

Brady McDougall
