Can't download a playlist to another computer

Solved!

Can't download a playlist to another computer

Hello I use Spotify prenium on three of my devices, a windows pc, a mac and my iphone. I added local files to a playlist. on my iphone I was able to download the playlist in question but on my mac it does not matter, it's still waiting. I tried to reinstall the application but it did nothing.

if you know how to do it I'm a taker 🙂

Hey @Noctsu

Did you import the local files on your Windows computer and then sync it to download on your iPhone?

The same won't work to get the songs on your mac. To get the songs on your mac, you will need to copy all the source files for your local files from your windows computer over to your mac and then do the following to get them to show up:

Add local files

  1. Click  in the top-right corner of the app and select Settings
  2. Scroll down to Local Files
  3. Any files in My Music, Downloads, and iTunes folders are automatically selected. Switch off any sources you don't want Spotify to access.
  4. Click ADD SOURCE to select another folder from which Spotify can access your personal music files.

Spotify supports .mp3 and .m4p files (unless they contain video). If QuickTime is installed on your computer, .mp4 files are also supported.

thank you I understand better now. I thought we could do the same thing on the phone as downloading it would do it too. it does not matter, thank you for this information

You're welcome!

Right now the files need to be on each computer for them to show up. The downloading / sync over WiFi method only works when you want them transferred in the mobile app.
