Deleted entire Starred Playlist on accident

Deleted entire Starred Playlist on accident

Hi,

I deleted my 2000 song Starred playlist on accident.  I was trying to do a search in it, but my desktop version wouldn't let me. Somehow I magically highlighted them all and pressed the back button and voila. All gone.

Please help.

thanks!

The search option will be coming back to the desktop app in a future update.

I suggest you contact support. They might be able to help you get the songs back.

If you get an automated reply email telling you to check the help section or the community, you need to reply back to it, even if it's from a no-reply address.

Support usually replies within 24-48 hours.

Thanks for the quick response!

I've gotten several answers from Support. All of them saying they can't recover my deleted songs from my "Starred playlist", which seems ridiculous. I've seen several threads where Moderators state this issue was/can by solved and there's time restore, etc.

Just for clarification, I deleted my playlist because I'm used to the "Search" feature, which they did away with. Why? Who knows. Anyway, I'm used to clicking "Starred" ,  command+F , type song, and play. So I did this, decided to search something else, clicked command+A then delete, which would've been in the search field, but since that's not functional, it selected all songs and deleted them.

Here's their response..

"Sorry to hear you've lost some songs in your starred playlists, but we can get them back, don't worry. We just need you to provide a few details then we'll work our magic:

  • Names of the starred playlists.
  • A rough date they went missing.

Please take note that this would only work if it's really saved as a starred playlist. It's just saved as starred tracks, we're unable to recover them."

I don't understand how there isn't a history of this. It's the original Starred playlist and I'd use it for all my songs. I pay $9.99 /mo for years only to have Spotify say they can't help me after they took a feature away that made me accidently wipe out my playlist??

Thanks for any help.
