Over the last few days, I've noticed an increasing issue where the music stops playing mid song and I have a lot of trouble getting any music to start again. Eventually I've succeeded to get something to play again until now.
Now I can't get any music to play.
I've repeatedly checked the internet speed - around 500 mbps up and down, so that's not the issue. Everything else is online.

Hey @StarryK,
Thank you for reaching out to the Community.
This type of issue with the playback is commonly related to some damaged cache stored on your Mac. So in this case, we'd first recommend performing a clean reinstall of the app by following the steps mentioned in this article. This process will replace any damaged files and ensure you're running the latest version of the app.
If the issue persists, would you mind trying with a different Wi-Fi network to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can use a mobile data hotspot to test it.
Lastly, could you check if the Web Player has the same behavior?
We'll be on the lookout.
Hi,
I have exactly the same issue - I have done a few clean installs and tried to use the web player and it just constantly refuses to connect to my speakers or play in any kind of way. Very frustrating! Once I have had Spotify open on my laptop, it also decides to play up on my mobile.
Hey @Helen88,
Thanks for reaching out and kudos for the troubleshooting you've tried.
Is there any chance the connection to your router was interrupted due to a weak signal? If possible, try using a different internet connection by a different provider and see if the same thing happens.
Regarding your second issue, can you explain in a bit more detail what is happening? Is the Spotify app on your phone open when this occurs?
Keep us posted.
I am having this same issue with any podcasts I try to play that are over 1 hour 30 long. with either WiFi at two locations or with data I have been having this issue
I’m also having the same issue on iOS
Hey folks,

Have you tried rebooting your router to see if that does the trick? Something else you can try changing the network frequency to 2.4 GHz / 5 GHz in the router's settings. Make sure that the network firewall isn't blocking Spotify as well.
If the issue persists, check if the issue occurs with a different network. You can ask a friend or a relative to create a mobile hotspot from their phone and connect your device to it.
Let us know how it goes 👍
I have found the solution to my issue noted above. I recently downloaded a vpn on my phone and for some reason although disconnected on the app it was always automatically connecting. I have turned it off and now the podcasts etc are working
I too was having this issue, I hard nord vpn installed on my Iphone. Once I removed this app the podcasts started working again.
This is on the web player. I don't have a different network to try currently. I also have an issue where the music keeps playing on my Sonos speakers regardless of the Spotify app playing status. Quitting Spotify doesn't stop the music. I think these issues are connected.
I'm still getting those errors sporadically. I've done multiple clean installs this year to fix this and other issues, nothing changes.
I've just been putting up with this.
