Feature Requests - Spotify for Desktop 1.0.6

Feature Requests - Spotify for Desktop 1.0.6

Hi everyone, let's start talking about what features are missing and you hope are included in a future release of Spotify for Desktop.  Hopefully the development team will see and consider this a useful thread.  Let's post just feature requests and not carry on about the politics of it all.  Please give kudos to others' ideas you like.  Thanks!

I'll start:

- I really miss the "Close to System Tray" option.  I could X out of the program, but it would stay running in the background, and I could control it with the tray icon.  Now I am having to leave the program open on the taskbar, and I often inadvertantly close it and have to start over.  I prefer to have only my active, work-related programs open on the taskbar.

Sorry to burst your bubble but that's never gonna happen. If history has tought us one thing, it's that the Spotify devs couldn't care less about what's going on in these forums.

Good luck with the thread, though. Here's my contribution for show of good will:

* I want to be able to add albums as playlists into arbtraty folders again.

Since folders exist on Spotify, it has always been possible to add albums as playlists to any folder you want.

That's how I work with Spotify since almost 6 years now. All the music I dig daily is stored in different folders where I drag as well albums as EP's or singles. As soon as it's dropped into a folder it becomes automatically a playlist. Of course I don't use these playlists publicly as it. I just pick on them to create my main monthly playlist.

Here is examples :

Now that I never realized. Can it be so simple? I always right clicked on the album title or cover and used the "Add to Playlist" menu which doesn't show the "New Playlist" option in folders anymore. But your method actually seems more convenient. Thanks for pointing it out, Soundofus! 🙂

You are welcome 🙂
