My Question or Issue

The first 10 songs will always play before the rest when I shuffle a playlist meaning I have to always skip the first 10 songs so I don't constantly hear them.  I have done a full uninstall (going into Library to delete Spotify files), signed out of all devices, power cycled the computer, and then reinstalled the program and still having the issue.

Happening exactly the same to me just recently!

It happens both on my cellphone (Android app) or with the Web version. This doesn't seem to be linked to the device but rather to a change in some algorithms recently. It's really frustrating.

Hi there folks,

Thank you for your posts here in the Community.

Can you log in with a different account - such as a friend's or a family member's to see if the issue persist?

We also suggest that you perform a clean reinstall of the app. This will make sure there's no old cache files causing this.

@mrhect - can you also clear your cache and cookies?

Keep us posted.

Cheers!

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

Hi Jeremy,

I've seen other people post about the same issue on here so I know it's not just my account/settings.  I've done two clean reinstalls, the second time I logged out of all devices before power cycling my computer and the issue persisted.

It does the same thing on my phone (Pixel 3), it seems to be happening only on Spotify playlists, user playlists will shuffle normally.

Hey @bassisfun,

Thanks for keeping in touch.

We can confirm that this is an expected behavior for some of the playlists made by Spotify. Rest assured, this won't affect your own playlists or any user-created playlists.

You'll be able to get the remaining songs of the playlist to play in shuffle after the first ten tracks. Tapping another song in the playlist will reset the Queue, adding the first ten songs to the top again, but you can still edit your upcoming tracks by manually dragging up or down the songs listed in the Queue.

We appreciate your feedback and we'll make sure to pass it on to the right folks.

If there's anything else you need, the Community will be here for you.

Cheers 🙂
