I am using Spotify on Mac OS 10.10. My local files do not show up at all. I even tried manually adding my iTunes media directory in the preferences, but still nothing. Any ideas?
I also don't see a way to import iTunes playlists (was that option removed at some point?)

It's likely related to the bug I mentioned. Spotify is looking into it.
How many local files do you have?
There is currently a problem where if you have 15,000 + local files, they won't show up.
The developers are looking into this problem and there is no ETA on when there will be a fix.
I have just under 9,000 local files.

Spotify may indeed be "looking into it" but they don't care as long as they keep collecting your money ... welcome to the new Spotify world where you have the priviledge to pay to beta-test a software they weren't competent enough to properly beta-test themselves !
So, instead of waiting for features that may or may not be coming back with "no ETA", you can get rid of this unfinished piece of crap and enjoy a fully-fonctional Spotify again by reverting to the previous version and preventing it from auto-updating :
