Logging in to Musixmatch using Google quits the Spotify application

Logging in to Musixmatch using Google quits the Spotify application

When in the new lyrics view, I click "Report" and then "Wrong lyrics", check the agreement box and then select to log in through Google. This will send me to Google login in the same window, after which I enter my two-factor code, which presents me with the permissions screen where Musixmatch asks for certain permissions. After this step, Spotify just quits, without any error or the system crash dialog. Repeating the steps results in quit every time, i.e. it's reproducible.

Thanks for posting in the community.

 

The first thing I would suggest to do here, is try a clean reinstall. Follow the steps here on how to do so. Let us know how that goes.

 

Should that not work, have you tried connecting/reporting things via a different method, for example via the Facebook link? Does that work any better here?

I already posted a similar answer under another topic which is about the exact same issue, but I think here it's better preserved 😉

 

I can't help with a solution, but I can reproduce this issue with the musiXmatch integration in Spotify on my system:

In addition to when you report wrong lyrics/sync I'm experiencing this issue also when I synchronized a song. As I finished synchronizing the lyrics and wanted to save it by logging in into my account. In my case was the Google federated login, too. However this doesn't really matter since the Facebook login doesn't work either. After clicking the login button Spotify crashes either instantly or after a short freeze without any way to save the progress and without any error message. So there's not even a possibility to abort the login procedure.

 

I tried this several times with different songs and on different times to be sure it's not a temporary problem - always with the same result. If any log files or more information is needed please tell me.

 

Last but not least, here's my configuration (everything is up to date at the moment):

Spotify: Beta 1.0.0.1212.gc1771003

OS: OS X 10.10.2
