Play queue isn't reset when I clear the filter

Play queue isn't reset when I clear the filter

 Ok, so firstly let me say thank you for listening and returning the filter function (you broke it in the first place, so how much credit you can get for fixing a regression is another question entirely... but I appreciate it being fixed nonetheless).

However, now I'm noticing a new bug with the return the filter. If I open a playlist, filter the playlist, and play one of the songs, my play queue becomes derived from the filtered set. This is really great!

However, when I clear my filter, my play queue doesn't get unfiltered, and when I keep hitting next track it keeps seeking to other songs withint that filtered set.

Solution: when I clear the filter, please de-apply the filter to the play queue and return it to normal play. Thanks!

Version: 1.0.6.80.g2a801a53
OS: Mac OS X

Premium: yes

I just tried to recreate what you're describing and I was unsucesful. Perhaps because I'm using Windows 8? If you haven't already, uninstall the application, restart your computer, and then reinstall it. If this doesn't solve the issue then perhaps someone else will be able to replicate it and come up with a better solution for you. @Josh is an OSX expert and might be able to help.

It's actually worse now haha. I have no way of clearing the play queue from that filtered subset. I went to filter by a single song and I played it and now even when I double click the playlist to clear the queue it just keeps playing that one song over and over again. I'll try reinstalling but that feels like a windows solution, it's not normally the solution to problems in OS X or linux

Oh boy. I reinstalled and now the filter is gone again.

*facepalm* The installer from the website doesn't install the newest version. I had to update from within the spotify client.

Seriously spotify team... I get that you probably have a lot on your plate. But this is pretty basic dev stuff. Don't introduce regressions, don't release a rewrite until it covers all the same features as the codebase it's replacing, don't link to outdated installers on your downloads page... get your **bleep** together 🙂

I'll mark this as closed. Having to reinstall is pretty ridiculous but at least the behavior is fixed now.

Here's my installed version: 1.0.6.80.g2a801a53

The issue has returned, I have not done anything to change my installed version or anything like that. Here's a complete breakdown of what I do:

 * Open up a playlist
 * Filter it using Cmd + f, type in some characters
 * See filtered set
 * Play a song from this filtered set
 * Hit the x on the filter to go back to the full original playlist view, while the song I found using filter is still playing
 * Check play queue, it still only contains the songs from my filtered set

Reinstalling appeared to have only been a temporary fix
