Mac Desktop App: Double click doesn't always start a song

For example in Daily Mix, I often go through the list of songs and double-click certain songs to play them for a while to see if I like them.

I noticed that once in a while (perhaps in 1 of 8 cases), the double click is not registered and the song is only selected, not played.

When I do the same movement and double click here in this text to write this answer, in Firefox, the selelection of words via double click works 100% of the time.

Does anyone encounter this problem too? I first thought it was just me being imprecise with my double click / mouse pointer movements.

I am using the built-in trackpad.

Thanks for reaching out.

We haven't had any similar reports so far. Is it possible that the app is not in focus when this happens (i.e. the first click is used to transfer the focus to the Spotify app and is not counted towards the double click)? 

Also, does the same thing happen when using the web player?
