My Question or Issue

Every time I play a song on the desktop Mac app, I get a popup saying "listen on your speaker!" I do not have a speaker (or any other Spotify capable device) connected to my network.

If I click the popup, the available device to switch to is the computer I am already playing on (it shows as [computer name].local). No other devices show up as available, so it's not trying to stream to a device I didn't know was Spotify capable or someone else's device I didn't know was on my network. It's literally listing the same computer it's already running on as a speaker.

This happens every single time I select a song in the app. I have already tried reinstalling the app.

Hey @omgmegami,

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community.

Do you happen to use a VPN? If yes, try disabling it and see if this helps. If not, check to see if the web player is open in your browser and whether the device picker works correctly when you have Spotify open and playing on another device (e.g. your phone).

In addition, you can also send us your current app version and a screenshot of how things look on your end.

Keep us posted.
