Playback stops when sending or receiving Mail on OSX

Playback stops when sending or receiving Mail on OSX

Playback over Wifi stops whenever a mail arrives or is sent. I already did a clean reinstall of the app (deleting files from cache & Library, ...). Didnt help.

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community.

 

This issue seems really odd. Can you try disabling the mail notifications like described here

 

If that doesn't help, can you let us know if the music pauses both on the Web Player and the Desktop app?

Find Spotify in the Finder (from the dock right click > Options > Show In Finder)
Select the Spotify.app and Get Info by pressing CMD+i
Check the box for Prevent App Nap
Restart Spotify

Hey Alex. This is still a very real issue for Spotify Desktop App for Mac. It's not even just email notifications, it's sending text messages, receiving calendar invites or reminders, there are a ton of native Mac events that break Spotify streaming.

Restarting Spotify app will solve the issue. After doing this 3-4 times in the course of 30 minutes though, it's easier to switch to phone and listen from there.

It is only a problem with Airpods, and possibly only the Airpods Pro #2. Doesn't appear to be an issue with other bluetooth headphones. 

Hope it helps. Really can't use the Spotify app on desktop until this is fixed.
