Playlist for local files is gone permanentely

Playlist for local files is gone permanentely

Plan: Premium

Country: Germany

Device: Mac Mini 2018

Operating System: 13.0.1

My Question or Issue

I tried to load local mp3 files into Spotify. Initially it worked but as I added songs to the source folder, the playlist was not syncing with the new files. I then deleted the "local" Spotify Playlist in an attempt to force - recreate it by toggling the "local" setting. From that point onward, the "local" Playlist was simply gone and did not show up again.

Things I tried:

* delete chache

* restart app

* toggle local files setting + restart

* change source of local files

* logout + login again

* re-install the app

Nothing worked. This is extremely frustrating since the implementation is simply broken resulting in absolutely horrific UX.

What can I do to load local files into Spotify (that I have not done before)?

Hi there @jamafu23,

Thanks for the post.

Can you clarify if you've deleted a custom playlist on your Desktop app in which you've added local files? Currently it's not possible to delete the Local Files folder in Your Library

I'd suggest changing the location of your Local files source folder to somewhere on your main hard drive, and not an external drive or a drive on the cloud server.

Keep us posted on how you get on.
