Since the folks here have this brilliant idea to remove the Desktop Apps could you suggest me a way to generate playlist automatically?
I am using spotify mostly to discover new music and as background music at work. No time to generate every day 10 hours playlists.
I am totally missing Apps like Lazify (web version not working and mobile.. yes mobile to generate content for desktop...) or similars and since it was the main reason i purchased the premium account (i wonder actually if it is even legal to unilaterally remove agreed component of a selled product) if in a week i won't find alternatives i will resign the subscription, and i guess with me the rest of my 200 collegues in my office room since we are discussing about it for a while.
Solved! Go to Solution.
As Lazify is using the Last.fm API and its Similar Tracks function, you could go to Last.fm directly and check the individual track pages for their similar tracks. One example: http://www.last.fm/music/ZZ+Top/_/La+Grange/+similar
The first 70 shown tracks there have a Spotify play button which means that you can either play them one by one on demand or automatically import them in the Spotify desktop software where you can play and save the whole list. This feature was introduced about one year ago and enables on-demand playback on all Last.fm pages showing tracks, e.g. your loved tracks, personal and artist top charts, album pages etc.
I agree! I used Spotify mostly for their Lazify App to find me music/artists, and now it's gone.
What's the point in paying the Premium price any longer??
Spotify is now going to see a decline in memberships because of this...sad because I was to make fun of my husband for having a subscription to RDIO, and now Spotify has the same old boring features they have. Ohhhh, I forgot, Spotify has lyrics. Lame...no one cares are lyrics. We want our Lazify.
BRING OUR LAZIFY BACK!! BRING OUR LAZIFY BACK!! BRING OUR LAZIFY BACK!! BRING OUR LAZIFY BACK!! BRING OUR LAZIFY

Thank you hans, i was aware of lazify using Last.fm API, but i didn't know of this feature, it' at least a working thing, not as fast and missing all the other app content all in one place but it let me at least keep using Spotify. Even tho for the moment i have cancelled my premium account, since i really felt betrayed as a client.
Thank you again.
You're welcome. If you miss other apps as well, you could downgrade the Spotify software to anything older than 1.0.1., see e.g. this article on Wired:
http://www.wired.co.uk/news/archive/2015-03/12/how-to-downgrade-spotify
Thank you again, i saw that solutions, but sadly it's not that easy to change the software coming from an unsafe source installed on enterprise machines 😞
I see, so downgrading will not work. Maybe choosing "Start Song Radio" from the right-click context menu of a favorite song will give you some similar tracks, too. The problem with that option is that the radio program usually repeats itself too early, but you could check it out yourself. For me it took three hours for the first track being repeated for the first time.
