Playlist will not play on Sonos

Playlist will not play on Sonos

My Question or Issue

One playlist that is not one I created but one I follow will NOT play on Sonos.  It won't load to the Sonos desktop app.  And if I try to play it to the Sonos directly from the Spotify desktop app, it will not play.  The playlist has over 4K tracks.   The only way I can get it to play is if I do so on my phone.  Again, not with the Sonos mobile app.  It will only play if I open Spotify on my phone (Pixel 4) and changed speaker to the Sonos.   Is this fixable?

Hey @Turnthatup,

Thanks for all the steps you've tried so far and the info you've shared.

We can confirm that there can be trouble when trying to play large playlists such as this one in Sonos devices through the Sonos app or even Spotify Connect, since there's a lot of data and it can't be transmitted properly.

For this specific playlist, we suggest connecting your device to your speaker via Bluetooth.

Hope this clears things up. If you have any questions or need a hand with anything else, the Community is here for you.

Have a good one!

Hey there @Turnthatup

Thanks for reaching out about this here in the Community.

Could you let us know if this started happening after a specific event such as an update?

On another note, we suggest that you try with a different internet connection to check if that makes the difference.

Additionally, we'd recommend checking if the firmware of your speakers has any pending updates.

Keep us in the loop.

No there was no specific event or change.

All my apps and devices are updated and have been.

Not sure what you mean about the internet connection.  I have wifi access and am not able to hard wire the devices or access to someone else's network.

Hi @Turnthatup

Thanks for your reply.

Would you mind restarting the router and trying again to check if that does the trick?

Also, could you let us know the exact make/model, operating system and Spotify version of your PC?

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

Restarted the router.

I have a Late 2015 iMac running High Sierra 10.13.6

I am able to get the playlist to play to the Sonos now if I use the Spotify app on desktop.  I still cannot get it to load to the Sonos app for some reason and Sonos says they're not finding any issues.  Oh well.

Hey there @Turnthatup,

Thanks for the reply.

Could you check that the Country you've set on your Sonos account matches the country of your Spotify account?

Also, send us the link/URI of the particular playlist that doesn't play so we can check it on our end.

Cheers.
