Plays the song I click two rows down, not the actual song I want to play.

Plays the song I click two rows down, not the actual song I want to play.

In my "main" playlist it skips what I want to play and plays the song two rows down instead. This only happens in my largest playlist and doesn't happen in any of the other playlists, so far.

I recently updated to version 1.0.1.1060.gc75ebdfd

Is this a common problem?

Since the update, I'm occasionally unable to click on the track I want to play in the Desktop version of Spotify Free. At the top of the Playlist it's fine, but if i scroll down (either with the mousewheel or the slider at the side) then it'll play a track two or three further down.

I moved down the Playlist incrementally to see if there was a specific track, but it seems different each time - after a while it'll play the track just below the one I clicked. Further down, it increases to two tracks difference, and then three right at the bottom. I've had the same problem on the browser version in the past (despite trying fully updated and cache-cleared versions of Firefox and Chrome) so i just stuck to the desktop version - but now it's happening here too. I'm using Windows 7.

It's not a huge issue - I can just skip back two or three tracks to the correct one - but it's a niggling little problem that shouldn't be. Is anyone else having it, and if so is there a workaround?

Cheers!

First of all, great music choice ๐Ÿ˜‰

Have you tried reinstalling Spotify? Since it is only happening in that one playlist, a reinstall might help.

If a reinstall doesn't help, let me know. I'll try to check back here later today.

hehe thanks.

No, but I'm currently uninstalling it, following the steps in the thread "mac troubleshooting spotify".

Edit: It fixed itself by reinstalling, sorry that I didn't read the "mac troubleshooting" before posting.

EDIT edit: I downloaded spotify again from their website but I didn't get the newest version immediately (The one I downloaded worked like it should). Then I quit the app then later when I opened it again I got a notifcation something like "Restart spotify for update" After it had restarted then it was back to the same way it was earlier, with it skipping to the song two down.

Having the same problems here, updated to version 1.0.1.1060 on Mac earlier today. On my long playlist when I choose a track it plays the track 2 rows down, sometimes skips around 10 rows down. Any advice?

I noticed that at the top of that playlist it plays the songs like it should, so I started playing around and found the songs where the "bug" started to happen.

I tried deleting the song were it started to happen, which didn't change anything, then when I wanted to undo what I just did, cmd + z didn't restore the song for me (I might remember it wrong but doesn't undo bring back a deleted song?).

I'm also a mac user btw.

OS: Mac OSX 10.9.4

Spotify version: 1.0.1.1060.gc75ebdfd

just because I can, here's a video documenting the "bug". LINK

(don't judge my music taste from over 4 years ago haha)

It happens the same to me. I click a song, it plays the next one (But it only happens in my longest playlist (Also, the longest one). But it only happens after the song number 80 in my play list more or lest.

I reinstalled, nothing changed.

I tryed to move all the songs to other identical playlist; but I can't move them all (786 songs more or less); si I tryed to move half of them and I could (But I couldnยดt add later the others), I hadn't that problem in that playlist with the songs, only in the one I have had.

The Main Playlist (The One with the problem): https://open.spotify.com/user/frikomid/playlist/39DdmGITuDpN7lD0SHZ4Mi

The Playlist I created without that problem and wich won't allow me to put al lthe songs from the Main one: https://open.spotify.com/user/frikomid/playlist/1aJzpdkeuiLQEUoQFDfS4Z

By the way: CTRL + Z is not working? ._.

Hey guys! Since you guys are all having the same problem, it looks like this could be a bug.

I am forwarding this thread over for review. I've also merged a thread into this one and I will be merging any more threads that are talking about this same problem if I find more.

Thanks for reporting! I don't have any aditional information to share at this time.

The undo and redo actions for deletions is currently not a feature of the new version. It could be coming back in the future, but there is currently no ETA when it will.

I tried playing a friends "old" large playlist and the same thing happened there. So far it has only (to me) happened in rather large and old playlists (created pre-2011).

For those who also have the same problem, when was your playlist created? Thinking about if it is a random occurrence or if it only happens in older playlists.

Hey folks! Thanks for reporting this to the Spotify Community.

Could you all please provide a link to the playlist this is happening with for you? The more examples of playlists we have the better. Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply. Greatly appreciated

I'll add that I also have the same problem with the latest version. As stated earler by others, the songs I press don't start. but the ones two below it. Both on my phone and tab (android) it works perfectly, so I'm able to fix this easly with the sync thing.

I haven't checked all my lists, but I know THIS PLAYLIST has the error.

Same problem here on my biggest list. It chooses the song two rows down.

I get the exact same issue. It keeps happening on my biggest list. I've tried re-installing Spotify but nothing seems to help

Hi Guys

Has anyone experienced the new desktop app playing the wrong song when selecting one from an artist's page? I'm using the latest version of the software and for example when I go on Tyler, the Creator's artist page and double click on tracks it will play the track which is three tracks above. Upon further investigation it seems it may be only happening on this artist's page from what I have seen.

In other news:

The new app (in contradiction to a recent post by Spotify in this forum) appears to run slower than ever on Windows 7, taking around 5-7 agonising seconds to load a song/album. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Cancelling Premium and buying CD's has never looked quite so appealing

James

i got the same issue with my playlist...

but it plays the song three rows down instead..
