My Question or Issue

When onboarding bubbles started popping up a few months ago this issue started. I would go into Settings and turn off 'Show the now-playing panel on click of play' and everytime the app gets updated this is reset to the on position. Also, the onboarding popups would display again even though I had clicked 'Do not display.' So, I'm thinking it's a data issue with storing prefs.

Hey @spidercam,

Thanks for reaching out & sorry to see this has been happening!

Let's first go over the steps for a complete clean reinstall of the app as shown here.
After this is done, see if there are any entries in the hosts file as shown in this article.

I'd recommend using the app as usual after this and keeping an eye out after a new update lands.
In case any settings get altered, just let us know 🙂

Many thanks! Hope this helps.

I did the clean install and followed the steps suggested. In the process, I think I figured out the issue. I use a program to clear Application caches periodically called Cocktail and I every time I run it, it wipes out the settings stored for the Spotify app. Thank you for your help on this!

Not sure if other users have experienced the same issue. I think it has to do with cache clearing.
