Some friends activity disappearing from the bar

Macbook pro 2015 - but also happens on desktop on windows 

My Question or Issue

For the past couple of months I've noticed that a lot of my friends activity has disappeared off the activity bar, not all of them but I'd say at least 2 thirds of them don't show up anymore . I checked and I am definitely still following them . If I unfollow them and then follow again they appear back in the feed until the next time I close the spotify app and open it then the same friends have disappeared. 

I've tried logging out the app and also unistalling and re-installing but it's still the same and I've also noticed that it happens on both my macbook version and windows. 

Anybody got any ideas on how to fix this.

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? Sorry if this may sound a bit repetitive but if that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app by following these steps. I'd also recommend updating to the latest version of macOS and also checking if there are any updates available for Spotify 🙂

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?
