Something went wrong on home screen, can't search or view albums

Something went wrong on home screen, can't search or view albums

As the title says, the home page displays "Something went wrong", clicking a liked album shows "Couldn't find that album", and search is just blank and never returns.

 

I have tried

- a clean reinstall

- using a different network

- a different (family) login

- checked the hosts file

 

It took a long time to figure out how to post here.  You should display a message in Ongoing Issues that it is impossible to post there.

And naturally the new post page gets stuck in an infinite loop on the most recent version of Chrome.

 

I'm on the Premium Family plan in Japan using a Ventura 13.5 on a MacBook Pro.

 

Everything works fine on my iPhone.

 

I'm a developer.  If you have a debug log that would help a lot.

 

Super frustrating.

Welcome to the Community!

 

Would it be possible to try with a different Spotify-account that's not on the Family plan in order to see if there'll be any difference? Maybe you could ask a relative or a friend to log into their account on your device for a bit.

 

On another note, have you tried in the Web Player to see if the same issue persists there as well? 

 

Additionally if you're using a VPN keep in mind that this can cause issues with Spotify's performance so we recommend trying without it. 

 

It's also worth mentioning that there's an ongoing issue here about the desktop app stuck on black screen where you can also take a look and check out the info.

Hi, thanks for the response.

- no, there are no non-family members who come over to use my desktop.. 😕

- the web player works fine on safari and not on chrome, just like this forum

- I'm not using a vpn
- I saw that other issue, but the symptoms are different than mine.
