Speaker Names in Spotify Menu Bar

Issue

In the Spotify menu bar you can select a speaker, I have two Airport Express devices, both have been factory reset and renamed in the MacBook AirPort Utility but one of them retains its old name in Spotify, there seems no way to edit it, can anyone help?

Tried the double log-in n my iPhone, no difference.  I'll try it on the Mac next. That didn't work BUT!! I went back to the Apple Airplay app. on the Mac and edited the Airport Express previously named 'eBay' and was surprised to find it had reverted to 'eBay' even after being factory reset.  I changed the name again to 'Conservatory' and it now appears correctly in Spotify on my Mac and on my iPhone, I can't explain what happened but for now all is well.

Welcome to the Community!

 

If you haven't already tried, we recommend logging out > logging back in, but do it twice in a row. This sounds a bit odd, but helps re-sync your account and the device you're using.

 

If there's no change, maybe it's best to change the connected device's name again via Apple's settings to test if that'll change anything.
