Spotify Connect not connecting in one simple shot as previous version

Spotify Connect not connecting in one simple shot as previous version

With latest update for Spotify on OSX 1.0.6.80.g2a801a53 and iOS (don't have in front of me but latest as of today), Spotify Connect seems to not connect as smoothly as previous version did. With speaker device on standby, in past, I could start Spotify playing and the speaker would detect, turn on, and it would start after a few seconds.
Now, nothing. Yet, Spotify shows the message "You are playing from: (speaker name)" and it shows the green bar progressing. No sound from anything though.
I have to walk over and turn on the speaker manually and, eventually, it works or; play music at first using Airplay then, switch over to Spotify Connect (still funky/slow though and takes a few tries).

So, something in the update messed up what was a smooth Spotify Connect user experience.
I have two identical Spotify Connect speakers that also use Airplay. It is not the speaker.
I play from the OSX app and the iOS app (from two different iOS devices), so it is not the devices that have Spotify on causing the problem.
I use Spotify Premium.

Which speaker is this? (name)

Also, since you said it just started with the recent desktop update, try a clean reinstall of Spotify to see if this fixes the problem.

Advanced method:

Easy method:
Download this free app cleaner. It's super easy.

http://www.freemacsoft.net/appcleaner/

When you open up the app, search for Spotify and it will automatically find and delete all files on your computer related to Spotify.

I use it all the time and it's a really great tool. If you ever decide to uninstall an app, the best way is to use this tool.

After that, download and reinstall Spotify.
