Suddenly I can't log in to spotify because of a "firewall error" and i don't have any firewall

So my spotify used to be linked with a facebook account, I deactivated facebook a week ago and started just using my email and password. This is the ONLY thing that has changed recently relevant to spotify. It worked fine up until yesterday, and my iphone app still works just fine.

Yesterday i went to open spotify and i typed in my username and password, hit login and it went to the main screen and started to load but then kicked me back out to the login page with this message

"A firewall may be blocking Spotify. Please update your firewall to allow Spotify. Additionally you could try changing the currently used proxy settings". Okay, I don't have any firewalls on my computer at all. Clicked the phrase "proxy settings" and it opened some options to select "no proxy" "autodetect" etc. i just selected "no proxy" and restarted spotify. That worked for about a day and now it's doing it again and nothing works. i have honestly no idea what to do other than not use spotify on my computer any more. I'm not good with this kind of stuff and I don't have a lot of patience for it

I also have already deleted and reinstalled and it hasn't helped

So was this Spotify account originally created with facebook and not created with Spotify then linked to facebook? It sounds like it if you login with an email.

Can you log in on the Spotify web player?

I've been having the same problem and still can't use it. Did you fin a way do solve it? Please let me know if you did.
