When I try to open spotify it bounces once in my dock and does nothing. No crash report, it just refuses to open. I've tried reinstalling.

You mean the version that doesn't work either.
Seriously, Meredith, this is getting beyond a joke and the company are beginning to really take the mickey out of its customers who PAY for this service.
You want feedback, you've taken a service that worked perfectly and screwed it up royally. I've tried any number of different versions and they all suck right now. I'm on OSX 10.8.3 and the latest update either crashes on opening, works for five minutes and then crashes or works for an hour and then crashes.
Consistently, Spotify have said, we're looking at it and yet still nothing.
Don't get me wrong, I love Spotify but here in Ireland I have access to Deezer and soon Google Music. We're getting to the point whereby Spotify isn't worth the money no matter how reasonable the price.
I pay you to be able to listen to music, I can't without digging into preferences, amending hosts files and trying to stop you autoupdating (which no longer works by the way).
From a customer's perspective it seems as though all you care about is getting new paying clients and hoping that 70& of them stay and screw the 30% that leave.
Seriously, sort it out or at least tell us what you're doing to remedy the situation.
Hi heppy - If you're experiencing crashing using OS X 10.8.3 and you're on our latest update (0.9.0.133) then we'll need to gather a bit more info. That certainly shouldn't be happening.
I've moved your post to this more relevant thread so we can continue troubleshooting.
Are you receiving an error codes/ messages? Can you confirm you're on 0.9.0? Thanks for your help!

Thank you

Thanks for letting us know. Just to check this, when reinstalling did you also remove the folders from your LIbrary folder? https://support.spotify.com/learn-more/faq/#!/article/reinstallation-of-spotify
I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times now. It start to come up, shows my screen and then immediately exits with no error code. It started this when I updated to latest version today. I've also restarted after uninstalling several times.

Description
So like many others, i have also been having a problem with Spotify crashing. Seems to happen about a min or so after a launch the application. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled, it works fine after reinstallation, untill i close the app and then reopen, and then it goes back to the crash-o-matic routine. I have had it crash before but not to the extent it does now. It doesn't matter if i am playing music, not playing music, browsing something, w/e, it just happens. I should also mention that this all started after the recent iTunes update, a couple of days ago, not sure if that has anything to do with it. I have also been noticing this string in the message console when the app crashes (or i should say just closes because i never get a crash report dialog).
9/21/13 6:41:43.852 PM coreaudiod[175]: Enabled automatic stack shots because audio IO is inactive
9/21/13 6:41:43.863 PM com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[150]: ([0x0-0x177177].com.spotify.client[782]) Exited with code: 1 (or a variant of this, but same com.apple and same code)
I also spotted this string in the console as well (shows up in clips of 38 at a time):
9/21/13 6:41:08.436 PM Spotify[782]: setShowsApplicationBadge: is not yet implemented for the NSApp dockTile
Anyway here is the requisite template info outside of what i just described.

It probably has to do with the GAP ad. Start Spotify and immediately click on the GAP ad to start it playing. Then pause it. Should fix the crashing problem. This is not the first issue I have had with their banner ads. Last time it was for some rap concert that would autostart and then I couldn't stop it. Spotify needs to get this issue under control.
Son of a gun, that's what it was, had to pause the video, or else. I had thought something along those lines, but sort of had it pegged to a dating site add that just happened to stop its animanation before crashing. Many Thanks.
Mac App has been crashing.
My solution.
Seems to be working fine now again.
They might want to add a "Clear Cache" option.
Good Luck.
UPDATE...
Spotify still crashed, but seemed to run more like a couple of hours instead of only about 15 minutes.
Still not a solution.

5. Then I reinstalled Spotify.
6. And finally, I opened the newly installed app and it crashed on launch again.
