Spotify using 20gb of RAM, huge amount of battery

Spotify using 20gb of RAM, huge amount of battery

I am running MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014) with a

2.6 GHz Intel Core i5,

8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 on

Sierra 10.12.3 (16D32)

Basically I uninstall and then reinstall Spotify, everything runs just fine and then after a night Spotify becomes a RAM hog. Obviously Spotify isn't actually using all the memory it says it is (that would be impossible), but it is still using a lot and it is still killing my battery life.

I have attached pictures below.

Is there any fix to this? I would really prefer to keep using the desktop client rather than rely on mobile or web.

Also, quitting the process just makes things worse.

I have to force quit for it to the close, however it will just reopen itself. I have also kill the Spotify helper process to stop Spotify from reopening itself.
