Webplayer inconveniences

Webplayer inconveniences

The webplayer just is strange.

It does not show a list for the library, just as icon view.

And it cannot be sorted for what you need (recently, time added, ...and so on).

But even worse, when I check an artist and his Discography, there is simply no list of albums, singles and compilations - as we know and love on iPhone or iPad!
Instead, you see each and every album and directly below the list of songs!

How to get an overview over the releases (and their years) in such a view?

What you are showing is just bad - it gives too much detail and no overview!
I really don't understand what you are doing there.

I like you Apps for iPhone and iPad, but I am not going to install an App on Mac!

Hey @spot666

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

In this case, we'd like to add some insights. For starters, keep in mind that you can modify the view within an artist's discography. At the top of the discography, you'll see these icons:

With the drop-down menu, you can select to see either albums or Singles and EPs. With the second icon you'll see all the discography as a list (as you kindly mentioned). This option in the web player is turned on by default. The last icon lets you see all the discography by amplifying the album art of each album, single and EP. That way you can avoid having the list you described.

On another note, take into account that the web player and the desktop app work differently. Within the desktop app, you can sort your library by most Relevant, Recently played, Recently added, Alphabetical or Custom order. This is indeed not possible in the web player. In both the desktop app and the web player you can filter your library by Playlists, Podcasts. Artists and Albums by selecting the options at the top of the app.

Lastly, we'd like you to know that we value every piece of feedback you share with us; we really appreciate the time you took to write your comments to us. We know you want to make the best out of your listening experience.

We'll be here if anything else comes up. Once again, thanks for the feedback.

You did not state anything new 😉

The "list" view for the discography of an artist in WebPlayer either shows the icons, or a list that is not the list of albums, but a list of albums with ALL songs visible.

What I want to see in a discography is a LIST of albums (or other releases) in a straight list.

So that I can see all or lots of them at a glances - but thousands of lines with songs!

You also don't do that in the iOS Apps, so why not in the WebPlayer?

I mean, what you did is way more complicated and you need to program all of this - just better make a basic and straightforward list of releases, with name, release date and number of songs!

Of course you can optinally allow to click on an album to see all it's songs, but that really not needed for me.

And yes, the library does not allow to be used at all - it does not have list view and it cannot be sorted.

THIS would be important - and really, can be implemented by a capable web developer in some minutes!

Thanks for your attention and reply, but really - better just fix those few points!

It's not complicated ...

Not sure what top reply here.

Please, just add some basics to the webplayer and all is fine - this is the only thing that will help!!!

No need for other "ideas" or whatever.

Just add some code!
