What's the point of having public playlists and followers if you can't connect with them?

What's the point of having public playlists and followers if you can't connect with them?

It's flattering to have quite a few followers for one of my playlists but it's largely fustrating in that there's no way to interact with them. No way for me to find out what might they want to listen to. No way to connect or know who they are. It's really nothing more than a number at this point.

What's Spotify's plans to improve this? It's been about a year since they removed features like sorting playlists by number of followers, which indicates to me that Spotify has possibly lost interest in improving community sharing features.

What's the deal?

Thanks.

Hey there! I completely understand what you're saying, but don't think that this is the best place for the question/suggestion. I recommend posting this in the Ideas Exchange section. There, you can get upvotes or (kudos) from other users and get an answer from Spotify directly once you get enough kudos.

Make sure to note one idea only per submission and be very specific. Also, reach out to any of the Rockstars or users with the "Ideas Guardian" tag if you have any questions.

Cheers!

What's a Spotify Rock Star, and how do I become one?

Ok fair enough. I'll consider dropping this as a suggesiton.

However, just to be clear, I'm not asking for them to include new features or changes. What I'm wondering about is what's the thinking behind what's a rather lackluster area of this otherwise awesome service. Does anyone know?

If they're not interested in developing this because there's other priorities, fine, so be it, but what's the story.  I'm curious to know because they at one point had better features in sorting public playlists by the number of followers, and then one day, they took that sorting feature out. So it leaves me wondering, what gives?

Thanks.

Yeah...I honestly don't know the reasoning behind it. I do know that Spotify has been focusing more on User Interface and aesthetic looks versus interaction.

Interesting but hasn't their focus on the asethtics been going on for the better part of a year? I'm sure there's a million priorities they're juggling but leaving features incomplete is kind of disheartening, especially when it's features that can help market the product (like community/social sharing stuff).

I posted it in the ideas section. Thanks for the suggestion, it's gotten a view kudos so maybe someone at Spotify will notice.
