My Question or Issue

The cover art isn't showing and the friend feed is unavailable and always says "failed to load". I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app - nothing changed. I also logged out and tried to log into a different account to see if the issue persisted - it did. Would it be an issue with my Macbook or the software?

Hi there!

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? Sorry if this may sound a bit repetitive but if that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app by following these steps.

About the artwork, try to readjust the left panel and the artwork should reappaer ๐Ÿ™‚

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

I'll see what I can suggest next!

Hi!

I appreciate your help, however, I tried following the steps to reinstall the app but I wasn't able to follow one of them. I went to delete com.spotify.Client from the Caches folder but it wasn't there. I have already simply deleted Spotify and reinstalled it in the past but the issues with the friend feed and missing album artwork still persisted. Restarting my MacBook doesn't help either.

I also just tried readjusting the left side panel to fix the album artwork as you recommended but it didn't fix anything. All the cover artwork on playlists and albums are still blank as I browse the app.

Version of Spotify: 1.0.92.390.g2ce5ec7d
Version of operating system: macOS Mojave

Let me know if you have any more possible solutions ๐Ÿ˜Š

Thanks again for your help,
Emma

Hey @emmrose,

Sorry for the delay ๐Ÿ™‚

Could you check this thread as it helped a user with the same issue as yours.

If possible from your end, could you attach screenshots showing the issue with the cover art?

Have you tried it with another user account on your Mac?

Please let me know.

Here is a screenshot showing the issue with the cover art.
I have tried it logging on to another spotify user account but it still had the same issues.

Hey @emmrose,

Sorry but I donโ€™t see any screenshots.

Also, try to check the thread I already linked in my previous post.

What I meant was creating a new local account on your PC and installing Spotify there.

Please let me know how it goes ๐Ÿ™‚

sorry, here's the screenshotScreen Shot 2018-11-17 at 12.20.41 PM.png

I tried to follow the steps about editing the terminal but was unsuccessful. I didn't know how to save it properly as command - O opened the finder and I couldn't to save it anywhere. Here is a screenshot:

I followed the alternative steps where it is suggested that I alter the textedit for the hosts file in the etc folder. After completing them, I still had the same issues with Spotify.

**bleep**! The issues are fixed! I feel a bit stupid but I thought I would give the clean reinstall another go. I found out I did one of the steps wrong but I was able to complete the steps this time.

Sorry for wasting your time and thanks so much for your help ๐Ÿ™‚
