playlist bug

playlist bug

Using Apple IMac . Spotify version 0.8.5.1333. ( An old version I know but have had no problems up until yesterday and i cannot upgrade without upgrading my MACOS which I cannot do either, its complicated) . Everything was fine until yesterday when made first 'friend' contact and now having major issues:

Cant delete or unsubscribe my friend's "top tracks playlist" from the playlist bar, it just regenerates a second later. Have unsubscribed to him completely and it still appears in the playlist section. Have asked in forum and have had no reply although I have seen others with the same problem of which there seems to be no fix other than "get someone at Spotify to sort it!!!"

MOST IMPORTANTLY, I then got another problem, I can now no longer look at the song contents of any of my  playlists for more than a few seconds because the view automatically reverts to one of the main windows, either the "whats new" window or the "Inbox" window or the "play queue" window or "people" window, depending on which main window had most recently been clicked on. This makes browsing through my playlists impossible.

The two problems only occurred when I subscribed to my friend and they seem to be inextricably linked. I hoped that unsubscribing to him would solve both problems. It hasn't. Is there any fix? Thanks, Steve.

Hey @giggsyisgod / Steve and welcome to the community!

Are you logged in with another device (phone/tablet)? I suggest trying to log out (or close the app from the background tasks) at another device and after that it should be possible to edit your playlists / delete the mentioned playlist of your friend.

Hi Carina

No I do not have a phone/tablet, nor have I ever accessed spotify with anything else other than my iMac.

Then my guess is that your old version of the client is responsible for this.. Is it absolutely not possible to ugrade both your OS and Spotify?
