"Aktueller Song kann nicht abgespielt werden" - Songs not playing on Mac

It's a common error as I read in other issues from different people. I cleaned the cache, I  removed all other sources for songs, I even reinstalled the client. Problem persists. Spotify doesn't want to play songs on my Mac. When I change to different Playing devices like my Echo or my iPhone, everything works fine ... but as long as i want to play it on my Mac i get this Error.

Any additional hints?

To help you troubleshoot this issue, we'll need a bit more info. What Mac OS and Spotify version are you using? Also, is this happening with your local files or songs from the Spotify catalog?

In the meantime, try a clean reinstall, and make sure your OS is up to date.
