My Question or Issue

Hello,

I detected the problem with adding/moving playlist to a folder which contains other folders. When I tried to moov the "r&b weekly" to "r&b" folder (it was in "jazz & related" folder), the playlist has been moved in the parent folder, not in child. How do I solve this?

Thancs

Hi there @lofijazzer401,

Thanks for reaching out. Does this happen on all devices or just one? If you can, please test this out. Also, does the full folder hierarchy appear in the options or are only the parent folders shown? If you could send us some screenshots of what you see, that would be very helpful.

Keep us posted.

Hello,

Unfortunately I can't to give you a screanshot, because I'm blind. But I definitely know, It happens in the all pc devices

Hi @lofijazzer401,

Thanks for the reply. When possible and with the help of someone else, please perform a clean reinstall. If the issue persists, then consider trying to create a new folder structure and testing to see if the same happens there too. If the newly created folders work normally, then try deleting and recreating the existing folder structure, perhaps the old one became corrupted and this was causing the behaviour.

Hope this helps.

It also doesn't work, the playlist is in the parent, not in the child folder anyway

Thanks for getting back @lofijazzer401.

When you can, we recommend giving the app a clean reinstall with the steps in this article as it helps resolve different issues with Spotify's performance and we were unable to reproduce what you're experiencing from our end. With this said, it's very likely that it's a cache issue and the reinstall will help.

If it's possible, you can even test this out in the Web Player to see if it behaves the same.

On another note if the issue persists, let us know if the full folder hierarchy appears in the options or if only the parent folders are shown. It's also worth testing with creating a new folder structure to see if the same happens there too.

Let us know what you've tried so far so we can get a better understanding of the situation and avoid repeating any steps.

Hope to hear from you soon 🙂

Hello. Yesterday I reinstalled spotify , but it did not help. Then I deleted some folder and now the big folder, the one I have problems with, is the first one. And when it's first, everything works fine. In other cases and even in the web player nothing works

Appreciate the cooperation, @lofijazzer401!

Could you just confirm if you managed to move the playlist to the desired folder?

Also, let us know if you're doing this with dragging the playlist or with right clicking on it > Move to folder and if any of the two options behave differently.

If you're still having issues with this and if it happens on multiple devices, as well as the Web Player, then it's a good idea to test with a different account. It'd be very helpful if you could log into a friend's or a relative's account on your device to check if the issue persists there too.

We'll be on the lookout.

I don't dragg the playlist , because I can't use a mouse.    I press
"mor options", then press "moov to folder", it opens the list of
folders, Then I press to the folder I need, but It don't open the child
folders list. I guess trying this operation in a different account won't
be successful, probably it isn't possible without mouse, and I won't be
able to do that.

Hey there @lofijazzer401

Thanks for your reply.

We can confirm that adding to a sub-folder works fine on our end the way you described it: "clicking on the 3 dots > move to folder > Folder 1 > Folder 2" so we'd like to know if you're using any assistance software to help you with this and the relevant info of the set up.

Also, it would be helpful if you could send us a screenshot so we can take a closer look. We understand you can't send it, but  could you ask a friend or a relative to help you with that?

We'll be waiting for your reply.
