Artist names not showing up in local files

My Question or Issue

I have downloaded music on my computer that I listen to through Spotify. Some of the artist names show up in local files, but some of the artist names do not. The artists that do not show up are on Spotify. I have made sure that all the files have the artist name in the properties. Is there something I can do so the artist names will show up on Spotify?

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Community.

First, we'd recommend making sure the meta data of the files your uploading is correct and in case the artists name contain any special symbols you can try removing them.

It's also a good idea to perform a clean reinstall of the app (instead of a regular one). We'd recommend that you download the app from the Microsoft store.

Then, it will be a good idea to remove all the local files you've uploaded on the app and try syncing them again. It might be good to create new folders with the files and connect those.

I know I'm really late but in case anyone else is having this problem, you have to edit the properties so the main artist is under "Contributing artists" not "album artist"
