Can't play a certain artist

My Question or Issue

I've been trying to play songs by a certain artist on my laptop. No matter what song I click, I get an error message along the lines of "we can only play this artist if you approve of them in the Spotify app on your phone". When I try to play their songs on my phone, nothing happens. I can tap the song, but it won't start. I cannot even queue it (it says "this content cannot be queued" or something).

Am I missing some weird setting? How do I play those songs?

Hi @Luanne98, 

You must have block this artist on your mobile device. That's why you're not able to play their songs. 

To unblock them:

• Open Spotify on your mobile, 
• Go to Your Library, 
• Scroll all the way down through your Playlists (or Artists, depending on device), 
• Click Hidden, 
• Unblock the artist.

Hey @sherb_stitch,

The app has since changed, and you can block/unblock artists only through the mobile app at the moment. Just go to the artist page and tap the three dots > Allow to play this artist. The setting will sync across all platforms.
