My Question or Issue

I get the following error whenever I try to play any song from the Spotify desktop app on Windows 11. See attached screenshot.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Spotify app following these instructions.

What is weird is that this only happens on this Windows machine. I can play any song from my iPhone or Mac.

Can you please help?

Hi @Nrj1!

This is a common problem caused by Windows volume processes. These steps should fix it.

In Windows 10/11:

Right-click on the sound icon in your taskbar and select sound settings.

Scroll down to the Volume Mixer option.

On the Volume Mixer page, click the Reset button at the bottom.
