My Question or Issue
I'm trying to add multiple songs from old playlists into one. Both online and the Windows App do not let me select multiple songs. I can select multiple but when i scroll down, they deselect. This started happening a few days ago, but before that it worked fine. I noticed the scroll arrow is also missing/covered by the bottom play menu. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it didnt help. This happens on the app i have on my laptop and the online site as well.
same it's annoying asf i can't use ctrl or shift. i legit have to move/re-order every song one by one
Hey folks,
Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!
Sorry to hear that you're unable to select multiple songs.
I tried this, but for me it works on Spotify for Windows 1.1.79.763.gc2965cdf. The Web player doesn't have this functionality in general.
I'd recommend running a clean reinstall of the Desktop app, removing all Spotify files and data, like described in this Guide. This way your app will be up to date and all possibly corrupted cache will be removed. If there is corrupted cache, sometimes that doesn't get removed by only uninstalling the app.
If the issue persists after that, let me know if you're using the app from our website or the one from the MS store and what version it is.
Looking forward to your replies.
But when you attempt to move a song to the top of the playlist on the Windows app, the playlist doesn't scroll up. Even though you can select multiple songs at the same time on the Windows app, it won't let you move them further up than what is actively displayed on the screen. When will this be fixed?
Same issue for me. It's unbelievable this has not been fixed, as this is a recurrent problem for several people...
Hey @AtticusCanada,
Thanks for your reply in this thread.
In this case, would you mind sending us the make/model and OS of the affected device along with the Spotify version you are currently running?
On another note, can you share with us the troubleshooting steps you've already taken? If you haven't yet, you can start by reinstalling the app on the affected device. You can follow the steps in this article to do it.
Lastly, is this happening if you change the internet connection you're using? Is this happening over WiFi? Ethernet? Both? If possible, you can create a hotspot from your phone and connect your computer to it, to see if you notice any difference. Give it a try and let us know if changing the connection makes any difference.
Keep us in the loop!

Hey there @Ryuu1,
Thanks for the post.
Can you let us know what device you're experiencing this issue on and what troubleshooting you've already tried, so we don't repeat ourselves?
Cheers.
Hello! This was also happening to me today. I downloaded the Spotify app on my PC and it worked instantly, but still won't work on the Web Player. Hope this helps!
Anyone still unable to figure this out in 2024- ctrl-click on the first song you want to select and shift-click on the last one, then shift click again to do whatever 🙂
