Hey,
I´ve got a question. I´ve got spotify premium and recently i´ve been using it through the webplayer due to some technical problems with the desktop App. The technical problems have been solved but nevertheless I mentioned, that the desktop app is far quieter then the webplayer. Is it possible to solve that problem somehow?
Might be you need to look at the Windows settings. Try these:
1. Click on the speaker icon on the taskbar
2. On the opened volume slider click the speaker (or headphones) icon. You should see a small window named "Speaker Properties".
3. Go to 'Enhancements' and tick the box saying "Disable all sound effects".
4. If there is any other setting for Dolby or something in other tabs, disable those too.
5. Click OK.
Or:
1. Search for Sound. You can also right-click on the speaker icon on Taskbar and select 'Sounds'.
You should see a slightly smaller window named 'Sound'.
2. Go to 'Communications' tab and set Windows to 'do nothing'.
3. Click OK.
Hope this helps!
Thanks for the fast Answer.
I tried both but nothing helped. It seems like it´s a setting in the code of the spotify app or something. Spotify works on the internetbrowser louder then the app.
This can be done through Windows Volume Mixer.
NOTE: Spotify needs to be playing while you do this.
Two ways to access it:
1- In Windows 10, press START and type in "Volume Mixer" and hit enter.
or
2- Right click on sound icon in task bar, click on OPEN VOLUME MIXER.
Next, adjust the individual slider with Spotify icon.
NOTE: Maximize the main volume before you maximize Spotify level within mixer. That will ensure Spotify volume will be at 100 when Windows volume is at 100.
Have you checked both internal volume sliders in the desktop client and web player that they are both on 100%? Furthermore the desktop client can disable the setting for volume normalisation in its advanced settings, but the web player cannot (anymore). So if you enable it in the desktop client, it will play loud tracks softer than before and vice versa.
I found that there a setting on the desktop version under "music quality" that called "normalize volume" that will maintain volume between songs. Turning that off seems to make the volume appear the same as the web player. To access settings, click the downwards arrow near you name and click on "setting".
Only replying because I found this while searching and it didn't seem to have a solve to my problem.
Hey there @palkoli,
Just jumping in here to add something to what the other users suggested.
If the issue still persists, could you explain in a bit more detail what technical problems you had with the desktop app? We would also appreciate if you say how you dealt with them. This way we can check for a connection with the volume issue. It would also help us out a lot to find the underlying cause for this behavior if you share the model and OS of your device, your plan as well as the version of Spotify you're running.
@tben2010 - just to make sure that we are on the same page - you are experiencing the same issue, right? Keep in mind that the Normalize volume option is related to differences between the songs themselves, not the app in general. You might wan't to check the Volume level setting just bellow that one and choose Loud, to see if that makes a difference. Note that these options are only available to Premium users.
We'd love to investigate this further! We'll be here if you have any other questions.
Hello There,
I have found the problem, for a long time now I also had this Issue, but had recently noticed a setting in the App that you can't find in the Web Version. In the App if you Click on Your account name > Settings > Scroll down to Audio Quality and there should be a setting Called Normalize Volume, If this Setting is On the App will automatically select the best Option. But if you Turn off this Setting Your Music Will become Louder and Match Volume of that In the Web Player.
I Hope It Works for everyone Else 😄
**bleep** why is this activated by default ? I think, you guys, should change that
